Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Site Engineer / Subagent to join a major heavy civils project in Dartford, delivering a 77m x 10m underpass structure. The role is site-based on a 1-year contract, with a day rate of £350–£400 outside IR35 and a 07:00-18:00 working pattern.

Key responsibilities include supervising SCL tunnelling, primary/secondary lining, waterproofing, and coordinating subcontractors to hit lookahead targets. Strong safety leadership and QA are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering heavy civils, SCL tunnelling, shaft sinking, underpasses, or major underground structural packages.
• Working hours align with site pattern 07:00-18:00.

Responsibilities

• Site Supervision & Engineering: Oversee daily delivery of the 77m underpass, coordinating SCL, primary/secondary lining, and waterproofing packages.
• Health & Safety Leadership: Enforce safety protocols underground, review RAMS, deliver daily site briefings.
• Subcontractor Control: Direct trade gangs and sub-contractors to meet daily outputs per 3-week lookahead.
• Quality Assurance & Reporting: Oversee ITPs, log daily diaries, track tolerances with the engineering team.
