Job summary

We are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer for a major tunnelling and infrastructure project in Manchester. You will set out tunnelling works, shafts and underground structures, perform surveys, and maintain QA records while coordinating with the Site Agent and Project Manager to hit milestones.

Responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, producing inspection records, and ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on tunnelling, underground, utilities, rail or heavy civil projects.
• Proficient in setting out, surveying, QA procedures and using AutoCAD.
• Competent with Leica and/or Trimble surveying equipment.
• Full UK driving licence; SMSTS or SSSTS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set out for tunnelling works, shafts, underground structures and reinforced concrete.
• Carry out topographical, dimensional and as-built surveys.
• Establish and maintain engineering controls and data datums.
• Produce QA documentation, inspection records and site records.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure works meet specs and drawings.
• Coordinate with Site Agent and Project Manager to meet programme milestones.
• Resolve technical queries and coordinate with design, commercial and temporary works teams.
• Monitor tunnelling activities to ensure tolerances and safety standards are met.
• Maintain records of completed works and ensure compliance with health, safety and environment standards.
