Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking a Site Engineer to support large civils infrastructure projects in the UK. The role involves site setting out, surveying, and coordination with subcontractors to ensure smooth progress.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree and demonstrates experience with drawings, schedules, and document control, enabling precise handover documentation and quantity takeoffs.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Previous site engineering experience preferred.
• Large scale civils infrastructure project experience.
• Experience in structural RC works preferred; drainage, highways and earthworks also considered.
• Experience in possession works (perhaps Network Rail).
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
• Setting out techniques – use level & EDM, plus GPS.
• Reads and understands drawings and schedules.
• Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works.
• Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately.
• Knowledge of specification and contract documents.

• Regularly review procedures to improve efficiency.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure all permits are applied for and in place, ready for site work to begin.
• Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed.
• Setting out and surveying
• Management of subcontractors.
• Make effective use of document control to manage distribution of information.
• Develop and Approve relevant procedures specific to the area of works.
• Approve method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works.
• Regularly liaising with the client
• Ensure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished
• Liaise with other Sections to ensure any clashes on site are managed to ensure a smooth flow of work
• Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible

ESSESTIAL EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
