Job summary

Randstad Cpe London is seeking a Site Engineer - Structures/Civils for a contract role based in Coventry, England. You will oversee setting out, surveying, quality control, and coordination of subcontractors on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and compliance.

Key duties include ensuring permits are in place, managing ITPs and QA sheets, reviewing drawings, producing handover documentation, and liaising with the client to resolve clashes and keep works flowing smoothly

Qualifications

• Degree-level civil engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Prior site engineering experience preferred.
• Experience on large-scale civils projects.
• Experience with RC structures; drainage/highways/earthworks.
• Experience with possession works (Network Rail).
• Valid driving license and CSCS card.
• Setting out using level, EDM, and GPS.
• Ability to read drawings and schedules.
• Produce detailed handover documentation.
• Accurate take-offs and material scheduling.
• Knowledge of specifications and contract documents.

Responsibilities

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure all permits are applied for and in place, ready for site work to begin.
• Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed.
• Setting out and surveying
• Management of subcontractors.
• Make effective use of document control to manage distribution of information.
• Develop and Approve relevant procedures specific to the area of works.
• Approve method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works.
• Regularly liaising with the client
• Ensure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished
• Liaise with other Sections to ensure any clashes on site are managed to ensure a smooth flow of work
• Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible

ESSESTIAL EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

• Qualified to degree level in civil engineering or equivalent
• Previous site engineering experience preferred
• Large scale civils infrastructure project experience
• Experience in structural RC works preferred, would also consider good experience in drainage, highways and earthworks
• Experience in possession works (perhaps Network Rail)
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
• Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS
• Reads and understands drawings and schedules
• Able to produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works
• Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately
• Knowledge of specification and contract documents
