Job summary

Sizewell C Company, in support of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), is recruiting a Site Engineer – Metal to oversee stainless steel welding and fabrication at Sizewell C. The role spans supplier facilities and the CWA’s site works, ensuring fabrication remains safe, efficient, and on programme with quality controls.

The successful candidate will work closely with fabrication teams and a multidisciplinary workforce, providing engineering guidance, maintaining compliance, and supporting production

Qualifications

• An HNC, HND or degree in a relevant discipline, or suitable site experience within construction or fabrication.
• Ability to explain safe systems of work clearly and ensure that requirements are understood and followed.
• Experience balancing safety, quality, programme and commercial priorities in a live fabrication or construction environment.
• Willingness to work away from home where required.

Responsibilities

• Producing task briefing sheets and method statements, and delivering workforce briefings.
• Completing safety inspections, identifying hazards and contributing to safe systems of work.
• Interpreting drawings, schedules and specifications, and producing sketches containing set-out information.
• Maintaining survey and measuring equipment, including relevant registers and testing arrangements.
• Preparing as-built drawings, quality check sheets and handover information to LTQR standards.
• Keeping accurate site records, including daily diaries, photographs and records of discussions.
• Monitoring performance against the weekly programme and helping produce KPI and progress information.
• Recording labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and outputs, and reconciling material usage.
• Identifying additional work and reporting actual resourcing against budget.
• Highlighting issues that could affect safe production and developing practical solutions.
