Job summary

Sizewell C Company, in partnership with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), is recruiting a Project Engineer – Metal to lead engineering across a major stainless‑steel fabrication scope for Sizewell C. You will coordinate Section Engineers, Site Engineers and supplier teams to deliver to a single plan, upholding safety, quality and schedule.

The role requires experience in stainless/structural steel fabrication, the ability to interpret technical drawings and documents, and a track record of leading

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Significant experience in stainless or structural‑steel fabrication and welding.
• Experience leading and developing a team of engineers.
• Ability to interpret detailed drawings, specifications, risk assessments and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of ITPs, non‑conformance processes, concessions and fabrication quality records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering activities across the section and allocate work according to delivery priorities.
• Ensure drawings, Engineering Data Requirements, Interface Data Sheets and technical documents are current and fit for purpose.
• Review supplier and contractor fabrication plans, construction plans, procedures and technical submissions.
• Own the engineering content of Inspection and Test Plans and quality plans.
• Drive non‑conformances and concessions through to effective closure with root‑cause analysis.
• Ensure fabrication records achieve Lifetime Quality Record standards as work progresses.
• Work with welding and non‑destructive testing specialists to ensure the required inspection regime is applied.
• Lead technical meetings with suppliers and subcontractors and support production and pre‑production reviews.
• Assist Planning to avoid engineering becoming a constraint to the delivery programme.
• Support the Package Project Manager with cost, risk and change management.
• Lead, coach and develop the engineers working across the section.
• Promote Nuclear Safety Culture and ensure risk assessments, method statements and lifting plans are approved.
