Sizewell C Company seeks a Section Engineer – Metal to lead stainless‑steel welding and fabrication coordination within the CWA. You will manage the fabrication area, coordinate daily activities and lead Section Engineers, delivering to programme and budget.

You will oversee safety, quality and compliance, coordinating with Construction, Quality, Planning and supply‑chain partners. Strong experience in metalwork and welding supports this delivery‑focused role on a large nuclear project.

Qualifications

• Experience in metalwork, welding and prefabrication in manufacturing or construction sites.
• Background in heavy civil engineering, infrastructure or industrial construction.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge across multiple disciplines.
• Working knowledge of legislation and Control of Work processes.
• Ability to read drawings, risk assessments, method statements and ITPs.
• Experience coordinating third‑party, multidisciplinary teams for a client or delivery body.
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills.
• Able to meet UK residency security vetting requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead weekly coordination meetings with suppliers and subcontractors and drive actions.
• Prepare technical documentation required to deliver the works.
• Raise requisitions for plant, equipment and materials for the section.
• Support production meetings, project reviews, risk reviews and pre‑production readiness.
• Provide engineering coverage during significant operations, including heavy lifts.
• Coordinate internal engineering, schedule and action‑review meetings.
• Demonstrate commitment to Nuclear Safety Culture and ensure supply chain compliance.
• Ensure works follow approved Inspection and Test Plans.
• Ensure risk assessments and lift plans are in place and communicated to the workforce.
• Conduct regular safety, quality, cost and delivery audits.
• Review contractor construction plans with Planning and participate in planning meetings.
• Deliver the section safely, on programme and within budget.
