Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Site Engineer to support an NEC Supervisor on a highways and structures scheme in York. The role involves site-based infrastructure works, inspecting works for contract compliance, recording progress and maintaining accurate project records.

You will perform setting-out verification, dimensional and level checks, help identify non-conformances, and promote a safe working environment through routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience in site engineering within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure or structures.
• Understanding of highways construction, site inspection and QA processes.
• Knowledge of setting out, dimensional control and level checking.
• Awareness of NEC contract administration and early warning procedures.
• Valid CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Assist the NEC Supervisor with inspecting works to ensure contract compliance and quality.
• Identify, record and monitor non-conformances, defects and safety observations.
• Prepare site inspection reports, daily logs and project documentation.
• Carry out setting-out verification checks, dimensional control and level checks.
• Maintain accurate progress records and contractor resource logs.
• Identify and record potential early warnings under NEC guidelines.
• Promote a safe working environment through safety inspections and site tours.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed on site.
