Job summary

CDM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering highways and civil works across the East Coast of Yorkshire.

You will set out works, read drawings, support site management, and ensure QA and safety. The role offers a permanent position with a negotiable salary dependent on experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong setting-out experience, CSCS, and a relevant engineering qualification.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer within highways or civil engineering
• Strong setting-out experience
• Experience working with engineering drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of highways and civil engineering construction
• Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers and project teams
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Relevant engineering qualification preferred
• CSCS and relevant site qualifications

Responsibilities

• Setting out highways and civil engineering works
• Providing engineering support to the Site Management team
• Carrying out site surveys and level checks
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
• Producing accurate site records and reports
• Supporting the planning and sequencing of works
• Liaising with subcontractors and site teams
• Carrying out quality assurance checks
• Monitoring works against design and specification
• Assisting with technical queries and resolving engineering issues
• Maintaining accurate QA and project documentation
