Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong earthworks background for an immediate start on a major highways and infrastructure scheme in East Anglia.

This contract runs through January 2027 with potential extensions, and there is a West Midlands long-term project to follow. The role involves setting out, surveying with Trimble GPS, and coordinating with subcontractors on safety and quality. Daily rate £350, site-based with lodge options for away projects.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Site Engineer on major civil/infrastructure projects.
• Specialized earthworks and bulk earthmoving experience.
• CSCS card (Engineering supervisor or equivalent).
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel/lodge for West Midlands projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct setting out for earthworks and infrastructure activities.
• Use total stations and GPS survey equipment on-site.
• Conduct volumetric surveys and manage machine control systems (Trimble/Tribol).
• Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors and earthworks gangs to meet specifications.
• Maintain site records, QA documentation and as-built drawings.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are followed on site.
