Job summary
Careys is seeking a Site Engineer in St Andrews to support the technical delivery of civils and infrastructure projects. You will be involved in setting out, surveying, and explaining complex engineering details to the workforce to keep projects on time and within budget.
The role requires experience in concrete frame projects, strong communication, and the ability to mentor Graduate and Apprentices engineers on site.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Structural Engineering to HNC level or above.
- Experience delivering setting out and engineering processes on concrete frame projects.
- Ability to use CAD software for data transfer to/from single-person working kit EDM.
- Experience mentoring Graduate and Apprentice engineers; able to teach others.
Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out using surveying equipment.
- Check levels, dimensions and tolerances to ensure accuracy.
- Support Senior Engineer with technical queries and RFIs.
- Review drawings, raise issues early, ensure buildability and compliance.
- Plan and sequence works with Site Managers and Supervisors.
- Provide clear construction information including sketches and mark-ups.
