Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Tipton is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a 278 works scheme with an immediate start for the right candidate. You will set out and survey works, check levels, read drawings, and support the Site Manager on technical requirements on a major highways project.

Experience with Section 278 is desirable; CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications are preferred. Ongoing work and a tomorrow start are available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways/civil projects.
• CSCS card is preferred.
• Strong setting-out and surveying skills required.

Responsibilities

• Set out and survey works accurately.
• Check levels, coordinates and dimensions.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Complete site measurements and quality checks.
• Support Site Manager with technical requirements.
• Liaise with subcontractors and site teams.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
• Ensure works delivered per drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works accurately
• Checking levels, coordinates and dimensions
• Working from engineering drawings and specifications
• Completing site measurements and quality checks
• Supporting the Site Manager with technical requirements
• Liaising with subcontractors and site teams
• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways/civil engineering projects
• Experience with Section 278 (S278) works is highly desirable
• Strong setting-out experience
• Competent with relevant surveying equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Relevant engineering qualifications
• CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence preferred
