Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a major infrastructure project in the West Midlands. The role focuses on earthworks, drainage, structures, quality control, and safety on site.

The position is full-time and site-based, with hours from 7:30am to 5:30pm, five days a week. Competitive day rate £450–£470 depending on experience, for an initial 6-month rolling contract.

Qualifications

• Experience on major infrastructure projects with earthworks, drainage and structures.
• Proven site-based quality control, inspections and testing.
• Strong health & safety culture with evidence of safety initiatives.
• Ability to plan and coordinate two weeks ahead.
• Full-time, site-based role with no remote work.

Site Engineer

Location: West Midlands

Rate: £450-£470 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: 6-month rolling contract

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure works, particularly across earthworks, drainage, structures and associated site activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering site operations, maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and Quality Control, and ensuring works are effectively planned and executed.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Health & Safety: A strong Health & Safety culture, with the ability to demonstrate previous safety initiatives and examples of promoting safe working practices on site.
• Quality Control: Proven experience in site-based Quality Control, including inspections, testing and ensuring works meet required specifications.
• Civil Engineering Activities: Experience across earthworks, drainage, mass haul, landscaping and planting activities.
• Structures & Concrete: Experience working on concrete, structures, piling, noise barriers, access stairs, UTXs and associated civil engineering works.
• Planning: Ability to effectively plan and manage your own scope of works, including looking ahead and coordinating activities over a two-week period.
• Site Presence: This is a full-time, site-based position, working five days per week. There is no working-from-home provision.
• Working Hours: Site hours are 7:30am-5:30pm. Full attendance and participation in daily site briefings are expected.
