Meriton Associates Ltd is recruiting a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer for Civil Engineering and Groundworks projects across the South Coast and Hampshire region. You will work closely with Site Managers to ensure precise setting out and control of works in line with drawings and specifications.

The role offers progression within a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of residential infrastructure, commercial developments, roads, drainage and groundwork projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering or groundworks.
• Competent with GPS, Total Station and surveying equipment.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for drainage, roads, foundations, earthworks and infrastructure.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records and survey data.
• Undertake volume calculations and site measurements.
• Ensure works delivered in line with design tolerances and quality.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Assist with quality control inspections and as-built surveys.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site.
• Support the delivery team in maintaining programme objectives.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.

Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer

Civil Engineering & Groundworks

South Coast / Hampshire Region

Up to £55,000 Basic + Package

Meriton is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor seeking an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join its delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected contractor with a strong pipeline of work across residential infrastructure, commercial developments, roads, drainage and groundwork projects throughout the South.

The Opportunity:

Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and Contracts Managers, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out and technical control of projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, correctly and in accordance with drawings and specifications.

This role would suit either an experienced Site Engineer looking for a fresh challenge or an ambitious Setting Out Engineer seeking progression within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out setting out for drainage, roads, foundations, earthworks and infrastructure works.

About You:

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project delivery.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working on residential infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying software.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• CSCS Card.
