Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a major earthworks package within highways works for Sizewell C. The role focuses on setting out, surveying, and ensuring works meet specifications, quality, and safety standards.

You will manage levels, lines, tolerances and carry out QA checks while coordinating with Site Managers and the wider engineering team on site in Leiston, England.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on highways/infrastructure/major earthworks.
• Strong setting-out and surveying skills.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment and engineering software.
• Knowledge of earthworks QA procedures and construction drawings.
• Ability to work independently and support the delivery team.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major earthworks package as part of the highways works associated with Sizewell C.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide engineering support across the earthworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying earthworks and associated highways infrastructure.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Managing levels, lines, gradients and tolerances.
• Carrying out site surveys, as-built surveys and quality checks.
• Supporting cut and fill operations, formation levels and earthworks activities.
• Maintaining accurate site records, inspection documentation and QA records.
• Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider engineering team.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways, infrastructure or major earthworks projects.
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
• Competent in the use of surveying equipment and relevant engineering software.
• Good understanding of earthworks specifications, QA procedures and construction drawings.
• Ability to work independently and support the wider delivery team.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent site experience.
