Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is recruiting a Site/Setting-Out Engineer for a major civil infrastructure project in Suffolk. You will lead setting-out, survey verification and ensure works align with drawings, specs and QA measures on site.

You will manage records, ITPs, permits and liaise with designers, subcontractors and client reps while maintaining health, safety and environmental standards. The role requires proven setting-out experience, GPS/Total Station skills, CSCS card and a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Engineer within civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting-out experience using GPS, Total Station and surveying equipment.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built documentation.
• Ensuring works are delivered in compliance with design information and project requirements.
• Managing quality control processes and completing ITPs.
• Supporting subcontractors with technical queries and engineering requirements.
• Reviewing drawings and identifying potential design or construction issues.
• Monitoring progress and reporting updates to the project team.
• Assisting with temporary works coordination and implementation.
• Carrying out site inspections and ensuring works meet required standards.
• Supporting health, safety and environmental compliance across site operations.
• Managing permits, technical documentation and construction records.
• Liaising with designers, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.

We are currently recruiting for a Site/Setting-Out Engineer to join one of our well-established clients in Suffolk.

Our client is a leading UK construction and civil engineering contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure, commercial, residential and transportation projects across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built documentation.
• Ensuring works are delivered in compliance with design information and project requirements.

• Supporting subcontractors with technical queries and engineering requirements.

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer within nuclear, civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong setting-out experience using GPS, Total Station and surveying equipment.
• Experience working on highways, utilities, energy, infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient in maintaining quality assurance and project documentation.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous Site Induction on this project is desirable
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
