Job summary

NEOS Engineering is recruiting a Site Engineer to join the Sizewell C project. With 1+ years of civil engineering experience, you will work with the site team, supporting technical delivery, setting out, QA and project documentation.

The role covers site surveying, machine control, planning, and coordination with Foremen to ensure works meet safety, quality and programme requirements. The package includes bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering or earthworks, 1+ year.
• Strong grasp of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Experience with site surveying, setting out and QA.
• GCSE Math/Physics at grade B or higher.

Responsibilities

• Carry out GNSS-based site surveys and setting out for earthworks.
• Use batter rails and stakeouts to ensure accuracy.

SITE ENGINEER

Sizewell C | £35,000–£40,000 + Bonus + Benefits

NEOS Engineering are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join an established engineering contractor working on the major Sizewell C project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer with 1+ years’ experience looking to develop their career within a major infrastructure and earthworks environment. You’ll work closely with the site team, supporting technical delivery, setting out, quality assurance and project documentation.

THE ROLE

As Site Engineer, you’ll provide hands‑on engineering support across the project, helping ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with the required quality and programme standards.

You’ll be involved in site surveying, setting out, machine control, QA and construction planning, working alongside Foremen and the wider project team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out GNSS-based site surveys and setting out for earthworks.
• Use batter rails, travellers and visualisation stakeouts to ensure accurate works.
• Review and validate 3D machine control models for automated earthmoving equipment.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and works information alongside the Foreman.
• Prepare and maintain Plans, RAMS, ITPs and checklists.
• Support QA processes and ensure required checks are completed before works commence.
• Carry out spot soil quality checks, including plasticity and moisture content testing.
• Support short-term and rolling-wave planning to maintain project efficiency.
• Identify and report contractual events to the Commercial Team.
• Record verbal instructions accurately, including supporting sketches and technical details.
• Work closely with the site team to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum 1 year's experience within civil engineering or earthworks.
• A strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Experience or an interest in site surveying, setting out and QA.
• A good academic background, including Grade B or above in GCSE Mathematics and Physics.
• Strong technical and problem‑solving skills.
• Eligibility for ICE membership and a genuine commitment to progressing towards IEng status.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams.
• A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety and quality.
