Job summary

Bond Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Earthworks Engineer / Site Engineer for a major bulk earthworks package in Leicester. The role involves setting out, level control, and ensuring QA and safety on site, with close collaboration with management and operators. The position is freelance for about six months.

Candidates should have proven bulk earthworks experience, proficiency with Total Station and GPS, and competency in AutoCAD, CSCS, and on-site independent management. Day rate £350–£400.

Freelance Site Engineer - Bulk Earthworks

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire

Duration: 6 Months

Employment Type: Freelance

Rate: £350-£400 per day

We are currently looking for an experienced Earthworks Engineer / Site Engineer to join a major earthworks project in Leicester for approximately 6 months.

The successful engineer will be working with an established civil engineering and earthworks contractor, supporting the delivery of a large-scale bulk earthworks package.

Responsibilities:

• Setting out for bulk earthworks and associated civil engineering works
• Cut & fill operations and level control
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records
• QA documentation and as-built surveys
• Working closely with site management and machine operators
• Monitoring earthworks against drawings and specifications
• Carrying out volume and level checks
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and accurately

Requirements:

• Strong previous experience on bulk earthworks projects
• Experienced using Total Station and GPS
• Good understanding of earthworks, levels and cut & fill
• Competent with AutoCAD
• CSCS
• Own laptop preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage engineering requirements on site
