Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Leeds is recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure scheme on a long-term contract. You will be responsible for setting out, surveying and ensuring works are delivered to drawings and specifications on a high-profile project.

The role requires strong Leica/Trimble setting-out experience, AutoCAD proficiency, QA documentation, and a CSCS card. You will coordinate with management, subcontractors and the client while maintaining accurate site

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure scheme in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long‑term contract on a high‑profile project, working with a leading civil engineering contractor.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for highways and civil engineering works.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Managing QA documentation, including ITPs, inspections and as‑built records.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors and the client.
• Monitoring progress and reporting any technical issues.
• Ensuring works are carried out safely and in line with project requirements.
• Assisting with planning and coordinating daily site activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects.
• Strong setting out experience using Leica or Trimble equipment.
• Good understanding of QA procedures and site documentation.
• Competent using AutoCAD and interpreting engineering drawings.
• CSCS card as a minimum.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
