Job summary

Bimplus in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a highways drainage package on a major project. You will set out works, manage QA, and liaise with the Site Manager and client to ensure quality and safety.

The role offers long-term freelance work with a busy project pipeline and potential contract extensions. You will use Leica/Trimble/Topcon surveying equipment and hold a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on highways or civil projects.
• Competent with surveying equipment (Leica, Trimble, Topcon).
• Experience producing QA documentation and as-built information.
• Good understanding of highways specifications and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Setting out for drainage works including pipes, chambers, gullies and associated infrastructure.
• Carrying out surveys and producing accurate as-built records.
• Managing QA documentation including ITPs, check sheets and inspection records.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Liaising with the Site Manager, Subcontractors and Client representatives.
• Monitoring quality standards and resolving any engineering issues on site.
• Supporting daily planning and coordinating site activities.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a highways infrastructure project in the Doncaster area.

Working for a well-established civil engineering contractor, you will play a key role in the delivery of a highways drainage package, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project with a strong pipeline of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for drainage works including pipes, chambers, gullies and associated infrastructure.
• Carrying out surveys and producing accurate as-built records.
• Managing QA documentation including ITPs, check sheets and inspection records.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects.
• Competent using Leica, Trimble or Topcon surveying equipment.
• Experience producing QA documentation and as-built information.
• Good understanding of highways specifications and engineering standards.
• SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid would be advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
