Job summary

Talent Guardian is seeking a Site Engineer for a well-established food manufacturer on the Wiltshire, Berkshire and Hampshire border, just south of Hungerford. The role is a hands-on night shift, 37.5 hours per week, running from 10pm to 6am to keep the site operational.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager, you will join a small engineering team, handle breakdowns, plan maintenance, and assist with records.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and engineering experience required.
• Customer-focused attitude and good communication skills.
• PC and analytical skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Attend mechanical breakdowns and assist with machinery adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair faults.
• Maintain machinery maintenance programmes and records.
• Help maintain an inventory of spare parts.
• Keep the workshop clean and tidy, and control tools on site.
• Maintain and improve the building fabric.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover.
• Deputise for the Chief Engineer and assist with clerical matters as needed.
• Complete all documentation relevant to the position.
• Liaise with Managers to implement company policies.

The opportunity

We are recruiting a Site Engineer for a well-established food manufacturer on the Wiltshire, Berkshire and Hampshire border, just south of Hungerford.

This is a hands-on night shift role keeping the whole site running, covering planned and preventative maintenance as well as getting stuck into breakdowns as they happen, across all machinery and equipment on site.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager, you will be part of a small, close-knit engineering team where you will see the difference you make. For the right applicant, there is significant potential to progress within the business.

The package

• £36,426 basic salary
• Plus 25% night shift bonus
• £45,532 total
• 37.5 hour week
• Night shift, 10pm to 6am

What you will be doing

• Attending mechanical breakdowns and assisting with machinery adjustments
