Job summary

Aligra Personnel Ltd is partnering with a growing food manufacturing business in Hungerford to recruit an experienced Site Engineer. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing machinery to keep production running smoothly, and offers real scope for development within a supportive team.

You will develop skills across mechanical, electrical, welding and fabrication disciplines while reporting to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and engineering experience with basic electrical knowledge.
• Excellent fault diagnosis and repair skills to minimise downtime.
• Customer-focused attitude and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and assist with machine adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and update planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Assist with spare parts inventory management to ensure availability.
• Keep workshop and tools well-organised and tidy.
• Provide cover during colleagues’ absences and deputise for the Chief Engineer when required.
• Complete all relevant documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure all work complies with UK health and safety regulations.

Pay & Shifts:

• £45,500 per annum
• Monday to Friday
• Night Shift - 22:00pm to 06:00am
• 37.5 hour week
