Job summary

Reed in Hungerford is seeking a Site Engineer to maintain and repair a wide range of production equipment at a busy 24/5 facility supplying major UK retailers. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and improvements, with training and progression opportunities.

The position requires hands-on mechanical experience, strong fault-finding skills, and good communication. Electrical knowledge and welding/fabrication are advantageous, and full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a wide range of production equipment (conveyors, ovens, milling, silos, packaging, bespoke machinery).
• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance; fault-finding and breakdown response.
• Implement machinery improvements and general site maintenance.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a well-established, family-owned food manufacturing business. Operating a busy 24/5 production facility, the company supplies major UK retailers and offers excellent training, development and long-term career prospects.

Hungerford

Up to £52,000 per annum

The Role

you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of production equipment, including:

• Conveyor systems
• Ovens
• Milling equipment
• Silos
• Packaging machinery
• Bespoke manufacturing equipment

Duties will include planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, machinery improvements and general site maintenance.

About You

• Mechanical maintenance/engineering experience
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Proactive, hands-on approach
• Good communication skills
• Electrical knowledge and welding/fabrication experience would be advantageous

Food manufacturing experience is not essential, as full training and ongoing development will be provided.

Shift

Nights: Sunday-Friday, 10pm-6am (25% shift premium)
