Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking an ambitious Site Engineer to join the Southern Renewals Enterprise on a long‑term framework with Network Rail. Based from our Gravesend office, you will work across Kent on complex rail earthworks and infrastructure projects, collaborating with experienced engineers and project managers to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

The role offers hands‑on experience within a supportive team, with opportunities to develop technical and delivery skills

Qualifications

• MEng, BEng, Foundation Degree, Degree or BTEC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within the civil engineering industry; rail experience beneficial but not essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to deliver across multi‑discipline projects.

Responsibilities

• Support site management and project delivery on rail earthworks and infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and technical specialists to drive delivery.

We're looking for an ambitious Site Engineer to join our team on the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE), a long-term 10-year framework with Network Rail that is transforming and renewing rail infrastructure across the Southern Route.

As part of our Earthworks team, you'll be based from our Gravesend office and work across a variety of projects throughout Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is looking to build their career on complex infrastructure projects while gaining hands‑on experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.

This role offers far more than day-to-day site engineering responsibilities. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists, developing your skills while contributing to projects that make a real difference.

About you
