Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is recruiting a Section Engineer to join the Sturry Link Road project in Canterbury. This landmark scheme will deliver a 550‑metre link road and a 250‑metre viaduct across the Great Stour River and the Canterbury to Ramsgate railway.

You will be part of the project team, applying construction and site management principles, with a focus on quality, safety and stakeholder engagement, and you should bring strong problem‑solving skills and initiative.

Qualifications

• MEng, BEng, Foundation Degree, BTEC or Degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of construction and site management principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

About You

• MEng, BEng, Foundation Degree, BTEC or Degree in Civil Engineering
• A minimum of 3 years' experience within the civil engineering sector
• A strong understanding of construction and site management principles
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and initiative
