Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a Tier 1 highways contractor in Chorley, Lancashire. The role focuses on setting out, QA and day-to-day engineering duties for a civils package including car park works and ducting.

You will establish site control, review drawings, manage ITPs and QA records, and coordinate with labour, plant and subcontractors to deliver works safely and to programme. Availability for 8-10 weeks is required.

Qualifications

• Proven site engineer experience on highways or civils projects.
• Experience setting out car parks, roads, drainage or ducting.
• Competent with Leica/Trimble robotic total stations, GPS and level equipment.
• Valid CSCS card required.

Responsibilities

Site Engineer - Highways Civils

Location: Chorley, Lancashire

Contract: 8-10 weeks

Start: Monday 5th October

Shift pattern: Day shifts

Rate: £350-£375 per day, CIS/Umbrella via Datum

Client: Tier 1 Highways Contractor

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support a Tier 1 Highways Contractor on a civils package in Chorley.

The role will focus on delivery of a car park and ducting works package, supporting the site team with setting out, quality control and day-to-day engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set out works accurately for car park, drainage, ducting and associated civils activities.
• Establish and maintain site control, levels, line and setting-out data.
• Carry out quality checks, inspections, as-builts and survey records.
• Review drawings and raise technical queries or RFIs where required.
• Prepare and maintain ITPs, QA records, site diaries and engineering documentation.
• Support the Site Manager and Site Supervisor with planning, sequencing and coordination of labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven Site Engineer experience on highways, civils, drainage, external works or infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience setting out car parks, roads, drainage, services or ducting.
• Competent using Leica/Trimble robotic total stations, GPS and level equipment.
• Strong QA, ITP, surveying and as-built experience.
• Valid CSCS essential; relevant highways or civils qualifications are advantageous.
• Available to start Monday 5 October and commit for the full 8-10 week assignment.
