Job summary

Progressive is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer/Manager for a long-term civils groundworks and data centre project in Farnborough. The role focuses on technical delivery, setting out, QA management, and day-to-day site coordination on a 24 September 2026 start date.

You will oversee drainage, foundations, external works, and accurate handover documentation while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Hands-on civils background with groundworks and data centre exposure.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and produce accurate as-built records.
• Experience leading QA, ITPs and daily site delivery on complex civils packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage underground drainage and ducting for correct installation.

Site Engineer/Manager - Contract (Farnborough)

We are partnering with our client on a long-term civils groundworks and data centre project in Farnborough, running to February 2027. They are seeking a hands-on Site Engineer/Manager to play a pivotal role in both technical delivery and day-to-day site management, ensuring the project is executed safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards as a key member of our client's team.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

• Site engineering & setting out - Carry out precise setting out, checking levels, coordinates and dimensions against construction drawings.


• Drainage & ducting - Manage and set out underground services to ensure correct installation and integration with the wider civils works.


• Foundations & concrete works - Oversee foundation layouts, concrete pours and structural elements for accuracy and compliance.


• Road civil works, kerbs & external works - Coordinate construction of roads, kerbs and externals to meet project design and specification.


• Construction drawings & as-builts - Interpret drawings, perform checks, and produce precise as-built records for handover and QA.


• QA management & ITPs - Lead quality assurance, managing Inspection Test Plans, inspection records and all quality documentation.


• Project management & labour planning - Plan works, coordinate labour and resources, and oversee daily site delivery.


• Coordination & civils experience - Work closely with site teams and stakeholders, using proven civils groundworks and data centre experience.


• Commercial awareness - Maintain attention to detail on progress and productivity to support efficient project delivery.


• Outside IR35


• Rate - £400-£500 per day DOE
