Job summary

We Are Footprint in Chester is seeking a Site Engineer – Groundworks to oversee setting out and inspection of residential infrastructure across the North West. You will work from drawings, manage levels and coordinates, and support the site team on roads, sewers and related works.

The role requires strong housing sector experience, proficiency with surveying equipment, and the ability to read construction drawings. CSCS and relevant engineering qualifications are essential.

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a busy groundworks contractor working across the North West.

The role will suit someone with a strong background in residential housing developments, particularly with roads, sewers and general infrastructure works.

The role:

• Setting out groundworks and infrastructure works
• Roads, sewers, drainage and associated infrastructure
• Working from drawings and specifications
• Checking levels, coordinates and line/level
• Supporting the Site Manager and wider site team
• Carrying out QA checks and keeping accurate records
• Working closely with subcontractors and groundworks teams

Looking for:

• Previous Site Engineering experience within the housing sector – essential
• Strong experience with roads, sewers and drainage
• Confident setting out using surveying equipment
• Able to read and understand construction drawings
• Good understanding of groundworks and residential development
• CSCS and relevant engineering qualifications
