Job summary

You will provide technical support, set out and survey across groundworks, and ensure works align with design and programme. Required are a Civil Engineering degree and at least 2 years' groundworks experience, with strong setting-out and surveying skills and the ability to coordinate with

Job description

OCS are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading groundworks contractor on a major residential development in Hertfordshire, with a project value of up to £12m. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Engineer to join a well-established contractor working on a significant residential scheme from the early stages of construction.

The Role

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support across the project, working closely with the Site Management team to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting out and surveying across groundworks and civil engineering activities
• Providing technical support to the Site Management team
• Checking drawings, specifications and site measurements
• Ensuring works are constructed in accordance with design and specification
• Completing quality assurance and site documentation
• Monitoring levels, coordinates and tolerances
• Liaising with subcontractors and site teams
• Assisting with resolving technical issues on site
• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
• Minimum 2 years' experience working on groundworks projects
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Experience working on residential or similar large-scale construction projects
• Excellent attention to detail and technical ability
• Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors
• Relevant site-based experience within the UK

The Opportunity

The project is due to commence within the next two weeks, so we are looking to speak with suitable Site Engineers who are available at short notice.
