Job summary

The Clancy Group Limited is seeking an Ecological Clerk of Works to support two flagship projects: Andover Link Main and Havant Thicket Reservoir pipeline work. You will provide site-based ecological supervision, inspections and guidance to balance construction with environmental protection.

Role involves pre-start checks, monitoring mitigation, and collaborative work with project teams. A driving license and UK work rights are essential. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent in Ecology or related subject.
• Full UK driving license.
• Experience in ecology, environmental or construction-related roles.
• Knowledge of UK ecological legislation and protected species requirements.
• Ability to provide practical ecological advice on site.
• Proactive approach with on-site relationship-building.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Experience with inspections, surveys, monitoring or site checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide ecological advice throughout the construction phase.
• Undertake pre-start checks, walkovers and site inspections.
• Monitor compliance with ecological mitigation measures.
• Carry out ecological supervision and watching briefs.
• Advise on protected species, nesting birds, habitats, trees and watercourses.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and site documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams and consultants.
• Escalate activities where there is risk of ecological harm.
