Job summary

The Clancy Group Limited is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of water infrastructure projects in the southern region. You will perform setting out, surveying and on-site technical tasks, coordinating with the Site Manager and broader delivery team while ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and QA processes.

Ideal candidates will have water/utilities sector experience, a civil engineering qualification, and a solid track record in pipeline or civils works.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer in water, utilities or civils sectors.
• Strong setting out, surveying and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Ability to work with site teams to maintain progress.
• CSCS card and EUSR Water Hygiene are desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join our team, supporting the successful delivery of our Southern Water contract and helping to deliver essential water infrastructure across the region. You'll support the delivery of pipeline construction activities, providing technical expertise on site and working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider delivery team. Responsible for ensuring engineering activities are completed accurately, supporting quality assurance and helping to maintain progress throughout the project lifecycle. The Projects! Andover Link Main A major new pipeline that will connect Winchester and Andover, helping secure future water supplies while reducing the need to abstract water from Hampshire's internationally important chalk streams. Havant Thicket Reservoir Pipeline Part of the wider Havant Thicket Reservoir programme, this project includes an 8.5km pipeline and pumping station that will help transfer sustainable water supplies across the region, strengthening drought resilience and supporting future demand. • Carrying out setting out and surveying duties to support pipeline construction activities.
• Providing engineering support to the Site Manager and wider project team.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Checking and maintaining accurate records including site documentation, quality records and inspection reports.
• Supporting the delivery of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
• Monitoring construction activities and identifying any technical issues or risks.
• Assisting with problem solving and providing technical guidance to site teams.
• Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS, permits and other project documentation.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery of works.
• Supporting programme progress, reporting and completion of project milestones.
• Ensuring surveying equipment is maintained, calibrated and used correctly.
• Promoting a strong Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental culture across site activities.

You have demonstrable experience working as a Site Engineer within the water, utilities, civils or infrastructure sectors and are confident supporting the technical delivery of construction projects. Along with practical experience in setting out, surveying and interpreting engineering drawings, with the ability to work collaboratively with site teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain project progress. Experience working on pipeline, clean water, utilities or major civils projects would be highly advantageous, together with an understanding of working within a regulated utility environment. Additionally, you'll have a strong understanding of quality requirements, inspection processes and health and safety standards, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure works are delivered to specification. You'll be organised, detail-focused and able to manage your workload effectively while supporting the wider project team. A qualification in Civil Engineering (degree, HNC/HND or equivalent) would be advantageous, together with experience using surveying equipment and relevant engineering software. A CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene qualification are desirable. A full and valid UK driving licence is essential.
