Job summary

You will operate process plant and laboratory activities, ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, and optimise operations for efficiency and customer service. Full driving license required.

Qualifications

• A minimum HNC in chemistry.
• Good knowledge of hazardous waste.
• Ability to assess safety/environmental/plant impact of processing hazardous waste.
• Experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation related to the company's activities.
• Technically competent in handling hazardous chemicals.
• Computer literacy with basic knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and strong communication skills.
• Full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Operate process plant in line with permit, procedures and consent to discharge.
• Analyse all incoming loads in a timely fashion designating process routes to site personnel.
• Operate all laboratory processes in a safe and efficient manner with PPE and SOPs.
• Ensure the provision of the correct documentation for all incoming and outgoing loads.
• Ensure all site activities comply with SHE policies and legislation to protect health and environment.
• Provide analytical information to optimise vehicle turnaround time, processing efficiency and customer service.
• Assist in development and improvement of site activities and processes including sample analysis for new waste streams.
• Take appropriate action with respect to waste acceptance and rectifying any problems.
• Pack and segregate lab smalls waste at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.
