Job summary

Progressive is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major substation project at India Queens, Cornwall. This site-based role requires strong commercial leadership across the project lifecycle, ensuring cost control, contract compliance and robust reporting.

You will work with the Project Manager and delivery team to manage budgets, change control, subcontract packages and final accounts, with NEC contract expertise in power infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven Senior QS experience in power, utilities or major infra projects.
• Experience on substations, transmission or National Grid projects.
• Strong NEC contracts understanding and application.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site commercial and quantity surveying activities.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, valuations and cashflow.
• Administer contracts, variations, and change control.
• Prepare and negotiate subcontract packages.
• Produce cost/value reconciliation and forecasts.
• Monitor performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to delivery team.
• Manage payment applications and final accounts.
• Ensure governance and client/supplier relationships.
