Job summary

adi Group in Northamptonshire is seeking a site-based HVAC Engineer to support the delivery of non-core engineering and facilities services. You will ensure the upkeep, maintenance, and statutory compliance of site assets, reporting to the Site FM Manager and collaborating with site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities include leading daily maintenance work, overseeing contractors, supporting plant improvements, and maintaining FGAS logbooks.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining chiller plants and HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• F-GAS certification and knowledge of safety regulations are essential.
• Familiar with CMMS and planned/reactive maintenance processes.

• Plan, coordinate, and lead day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance work.
• Manage and oversee contractors delivering specialist services.
• Support plant and equipment improvements to boost safety and efficiency.
• Maintain FGAS logbooks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in maintenance practices and asset reliability.
• Participate in on-call duties and escalation processes.
• Support minor project works and capital improvement initiatives.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards are maintained.

About the Role

As a site-based HVAC Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of non-core engineering and facilities services, ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and statutory compliance of site assets. Reporting to the Site FM Manager, you will work closely with site teams and contractors to provide a professional, efficient, and safe service.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

• Plan, coordinate, and lead day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance work.
• Manage and oversee contractors delivering specialist services.
• Support plant and equipment improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and performance.
• Maintain FGAS logbooks and ensure compliance with legislative and site regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in maintenance practices, asset reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in on-call duties and escalation processes as required.
• Support minor project works and capital improvement initiatives.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards are maintained at all times.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

• Strong mechanical engineering competence with experience of maintaining chiller plants
• Hands-on experience with HVAC and refrigeration systems
• F-GAS Certification is a must for this position
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
• Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/CSCS)
• Familiarity with planned and reactive maintenance systems (CMMS)
• Experience in industrial manufacturing
