Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our team, responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and servicing across a portfolio of commercial and leisure client sites.
This role will involve travelling to a variety of client locations, including commercial buildings, leisure facilities, hotels, retail environments, and other public-facing sites, providing a high-quality service and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, and reactive repairs on commercial HVAC systems.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on a wide range of mechanical HVAC equipment.
- Service and maintain air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, AHUs, FCUs, heat pumps, chillers, and associated plant.
- Complete scheduled maintenance visits in line with client contracts and service level agreements.
- Attend breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Carry out system checks, performance testing, and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
- Complete accurate service reports, maintenance records, and job documentation using company systems.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients where required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in compliance with relevant health & safety regulations.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with customers and represent the business professionally on-site.
- Identify additional works and opportunities during site visits where required.
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Proven experience working as an HVAC Engineer within commercial service and maintenance environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and mechanical plant.
- Experience working across commercial, leisure, hospitality, retail, or similar client environments.
- Ability to fault find and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
- Relevant HVAC qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ / equivalent).
- F-Gas certification is essential.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Strong communication skills with a professional approach to customer service.
Desirable Experience
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems within leisure centres, hotels, gyms, or high-footfall commercial environments.
- Knowledge of BMS systems and controls.
- Experience working on AHUs, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and heat recovery systems.
- Experience working on service contracts with SLA requirements.
