O’Neill & Brennan is seeking a site-based Design Manager for a flagship Bath construction project valued at £80m+. You will lead design coordination, work with the Project Manager and site teams, and ensure timely design deliverables across architects, engineers and specialists.

The role requires extensive Tier 1 contractor experience, strong buildability knowledge, and excellent communication skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams on a busy site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Design Manager for a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
• Experience delivering major schemes valued over £40 million.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, design coordination and buildability.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and specialist subcontractor packages.
• Able to work in a busy, site-based construction environment.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, hands-on design management.

Responsabilités

• Manage and coordinate the design process throughout the construction phase.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Management and Commercial teams to ensure design information supports the construction programme.
• Coordinate architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, technical challenges and buildability issues.
• Manage design deliverables, approvals and information release schedules.
• Chair design coordination meetings and maintain effective communication between all stakeholders.
• Ensure design compliance with contractual requirements, specifications and relevant regulations.
• Support procurement and subcontractor design development.
