Job summary

SCS Railways in London is seeking an Engagement Officer to support the project's engagement and communications strategy, engaging residents, councils, schools, community groups and key forums. You will help plan and run meetings, events and written communications to manage community impacts and stakeholder relations.

The role is site-based in North Acton for a minimum of 3 days per week and may require attendance at after-hours events. Opportunities exist within the Consents & Engagement team.

Qualifications

• A credible communicator and relationship manager.
• Experience in dealing with challenging situations and a variety of stakeholders using excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to write to a high standard with attention to detail, pulling critical information from available data.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Technologically competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning of public engagement events and activities both in person and virtual, contributing to the preparation and facilitation of workshops, briefings, presentations and attending forums
• Produce written communications materials to a high standard and tight deadlines in line with the project programme
• Communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders in various forums, formats, and channels.
• Develop relationships with the community and key stakeholders.
• Respond to complaints and enquiries within agreed Service Level Agreement timescales to a high standard.
• Assist with the delivery of the project's Community Investment and Legacy programme.
• Work collaboratively with the Skills Education and Employment team and the Community and Social Investment Manager and Enabling Functions team as required.
• Maintain up to date record of engagement activities and/or consents using specified data management system.
• Support the Project's compliance with the Undertakings and Assurances
• Work collaboratively with the delivery units and supply chain to minimise effects 0n stakeholders and communities, identifying potentially sensitive situations, reporting them appropriately within the project and client's teams.
