Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Programme Engagement Officer in Hampshire on a 12-month contract. The role is full-time and pays £18–£20 per hour. The post holder will support engagement, communications and administrative tasks for transport scheme delivery.

The successful candidate will handle public and stakeholder communications, manage records, assist with engagement activity planning, and attend scheme sites to photograph and place communication materials as required.

Responsibilities

• To provide effective and efficient engagement, communication and administrative support to the Capital Delivery Engagement Team. The postholder will support the management of public, stakeholder and member communications, maintain accurate records and engagement systems, and assist with the planning and delivery of engagement activities for transport schemes.
• Manage routine enquiries on behalf of the team, responding directly where appropriate and ensuring more complex enquiries are referred to the relevant officer.
• The postholder will help ensure timely, clear and consistent communications with residents, stakeholders, elected members and internal colleagues, supporting high standards of customer service and effective scheme engagement.
• Maintain accurate engagement records, including the communications log, engagement activity forms, stakeholder master list and borough and district councillor records.
• Contribute to the accuracy of scheme web pages, including web content and traffic management information, and provide updates to the Programme Engagement Team Leader.
• Visit scheme sites as required to take before and after photographs, place agreed communication materials such as banners and correx boards and arrange any necessary lamp post bookings before correx boards are installed.
