Job summary

A leading integrated design and build provider is seeking a Site Agent to manage site activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations in Testwood, Southampton. The successful candidate will need a minimum BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering and experience in Levelling & Surveying. Job Title: Site Agent (Permanent OR Contract)

Location: Testwood, Southampton

Type: Permanent or Long Term Contract | Hybrid (role-dependent)

Salary: £70,000 max (experience dependent) OR circa £500 per day (inside IR35)

About the Role

Our client is seeking to strengthen their Construction team with a Site Agent, based at Testwood, Southampton. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will provide setting out and quality control services to ensure works are completed to specification, safely, and with accurate site records. You will take a proactive role in ensuring compliance with C.D.M. Regulations, supporting programme preparation, managing quality standards, and maintaining open communication with the wider team and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all works comply with C.D.M. Regulations and company safe working practices.
  • Assist in preparing construction programmes, Method Statements, Action Plans, and Risk Assessments.
  • Setting out works and checking site activities for compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Agree site measurements and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage drawing files, registers, and site filing systems.
  • Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is used.
  • Take off quantities for measurement and requisitions.
  • Assist with construction completion documentation.
  • Maintain quality records and ensure works meet good practice standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example.
What Our Client is Looking For

Essential:

  • BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum).
  • Levelling & Surveying experience (total stations & automatic level).

Desirable:

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • SSSTS.
  • CSCS Supervision card.
  • EUSR SHEA Water.
