Job summary

RTL Group is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead civil engineering projects in Luton. You will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering water, wastewater and infrastructure schemes safely, on time and within budget.

Candidates should have proven site management experience, strong planning skills, and an SMSTS. CSCS Black Card and HNC/HND in Civil Engineering are highly desirable, with extensive coordination of multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Agent on civil engineering, water or infrastructure projects.
• Strong planning, budgeting and SHEQ knowledge required.
• SMSTS essential; CSCS Black Card; NVQ Level 6 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage CPPs, RAMS, ITPs, budgets and programmes.
• Plan, programme and resource works to meet milestones.
• Monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and statutory requirements.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a growing civil engineering team delivering water, wastewater, infrastructure and environmental projects in Luton. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the planning, management and delivery of schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role offers an immediate start Outside IR35 with opportunities to continue onto further long-term projects following the initial assignment.

• Develop and manage Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), RAMS, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), programmes and project budgets.
• Plan, programme and resource works effectively to achieve project milestones.
• Monitor project progress against the programme and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure full compliance with all company procedures and statutory requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
• Brief site teams on RAMS, safe systems of work and project-specific requirements.
• Participate in regular SHEQ audits and client safety inspections.
• Ensure works are delivered efficiently and within agreed financial targets.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, resources and project performance.

Quality Assurance

• Implement and manage quality assurance procedures.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, drawings and contractual requirements.
• Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and Client Representatives.
• Lead regular site briefings and progress meetings.
• Proven experience working as a Site Agent within Civil Engineering, Water, Utilities or Infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project planning, programming and resource management.
• Experience producing CPPs, RAMS, ITPs, budgets and programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice., SMSTS (Essential)
• CSCS Black Card / NVQ Level 6 (Essential)
• 3-Day First Aid at Work (Essential), HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
