Job summary

Jackson Civil Engineering Ltd is recruiting for a Site Agent/Sub Agent to lead site teams across the Southern Region, covering Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey. You will oversee site staff, subcontractors and safety documentation while coordinating design and program progress.

The role requires relevant industry qualifications (HND/HNC/BEng) or equivalent and an up-to-date SMSTS, CSCS card, and First Aid at work is desirable. UK work eligibility and a valid driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor.
• Experience on Highways, Earthworks and Structures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage site staff, operatives and sub-contractors.
• Provide method statements, RAMs and project management plans.
• Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against budgets.
• Prepare and monitor programmes of work.
• Engage sub-contractors and manage design co-ordination.
• Control contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion.
• Inform and consult local groups; foster client relations.
• Forecast cost and programme, administer contract changes.
• Mentor junior staff and support their career development.

Due to continued success, we are now recruiting for a Sub Agent to work in our Southern Region around the Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey area.

Main Duties

• Management of site staff, operatives and sub-contractors.
• Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
• Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
• Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
• Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
• Manage design co-ordination and control project risks
• Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
• Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
• Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
• Understand and administer contract change.
• Supervise, mentor and assist in the career development of junior staff

Are you the person we are looking for?

Already experienced as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent and an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at work qualification is desirable.

You will also have experience of managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor along with previous experience on Highways, Earthworks and Structures experience.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and have a full UK driving licence.

• Be able to maintain and monitor works against a programme and budget
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Able to run multiple complex and non-complex sites
• Maintain comprehensive records.
• Have compliance with current legislation requirements, including the production and implementation of RAMs and other associated safety/project documentation.
• The ability to forecast cost and programme
