Job summary

VolkerStevin is seeking a Site Agent to lead civil engineering projects in Burnley under the Environment Agency framework. You will take ownership of delivery, lead site teams, and drive safe, on-time, within-budget performance.

The role requires strong leadership, programme management, and client/stakeholder engagement; you'll manage risks and maintain HSEQ standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering, infrastructure, water, environmental, or related sectors.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability to manage programmes, budgets, and project delivery.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.
• Sound knowledge of HSEQ standards and construction best practice.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Manage project programmes, ensuring milestones, critical paths, and deliverables are achieved.
• Oversee commercial performance, change control, forecasting, and project reporting.
• Produce monthly progress reviews and client reports.
• Drive excellence in HSEQ performance.
• Manage procurement activities and supply chain performance.
• Ensure robust management of project risks, opportunities, and contractual obligations.
• Lead client meetings and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and technical specialists to achieve objectives.
• Support, mentor, and develop team members; foster a collaborative culture.
• Ensure quality processes, project documentation, and company procedures are followed.
