Job summary

VolkerWessels UK Group’s VolkerStevin unit is seeking a Site Agent to lead civil engineering projects from mobilisation to completion. You will manage programmes, control costs, report progress, and ensure HSEQ compliance while building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

You will mentor teams, coordinate specialists, and drive a culture of safety, quality, and delivery excellence on challenging projects for Environment Agency programmes and related infrastructure work.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering, infrastructure, water, environmental, or related sectors.
  • Environment Agency Framework experience desired
  • Sound knowledge of HSEQ standards and construction best practice.
  • Proven ability to manage programmes, budgets, and project delivery.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.

Job description

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for the successful construction-phase delivery of projects, ensuring programme, commercial, safety, quality, and client objectives are achieved. You'll provide leadership to site teams, manage project risks and opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Lead the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Manage project programmes, ensuring milestones, critical paths, and deliverables are achieved.

  • Manage procurement activities and supply chain performance.
  • Ensure robust management of project risks, opportunities, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead client meetings and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and technical specialists to achieve project objectives.
  • Support, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure quality processes, project documentation, and company procedures are fully implemented.
    Experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering, infrastructure, water, environmental, or related sectors.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
