A growing civil engineering firm seeks a Site Agent to manage infrastructure projects in the North West. The role involves ensuring high health and safety standards, reviewing engineering specifications, and managing a team. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
The company is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering firm that started in Scotland 45 years ago. They work in civil engineering, industrial sectors, rail, power, petrochemical, surfacing, and drainage across the UK. Recently, they opened a new office in Manchester and also have an office in Southampton, aiming to continue their rapid growth.
They have an extremely high staff retention rate and are rarely looking for new staff. However, having recently secured new projects, they are now seeking operational staff in the North West and Yorkshire. Their clients include National Highways, the Environment Agency, United Utilities, and private clients. Projects range from £50,000 to £12 million and include flood prevention works, wastewater and drainage projects, reservoirs, canals, rivers, renewable energy projects, highways infrastructure, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, highways construction and maintenance, as well as footways and cycleways.
The company currently has a turnover of £130 million.
The company is looking for a Site Agent to manage civil engineering infrastructure projects in the North West. The successful candidate will promote high standards of health and safety by ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are in place for all work aspects. You will review engineering drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving design conflicts.
You will work on Power and Energy projects, including battery storage facilities and substations. Additionally, there will be Civils Projects involving Water treatment upgrades, minor roads, junctions, and enabling works for developments. You will manage Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and Site Engineers, reporting directly to the project manager. Other projects include infrastructure, bridge infrastructure, concrete structures, land drainage, internal drainage, flood banks, deep drainage, and major earthworks.
You will join a growing company committed to staff development and progression, offering training programs to support your career growth. The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 – £60,000, along with a company car or car allowance.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of site management experience in civil engineering projects, with a degree in engineering and progression to a Site Agent role. A stable employment history and significant UK experience are essential.
