Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is recruiting a Site Agent to join the North of Scotland energy-focused framework. You will lead site operations, manage delivery teams, and drive safety and efficiency on major electrical infrastructure projects.

A strong background in civil engineering, earthworks and utility construction is essential. Role involves coordinating temporary works, reporting progress, and mentoring site personnel.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Site Agent, Sub-Agent, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, and resources.
  • Knowledge of earthworks, drainage, concrete works and related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site operations to deliver projects safely, on time and on budget.
  • Oversee site setup and coordinate construction works across the lifecycle.
  • Supervise site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials and resources.
  • Support surveys, ground investigations and design inputs on site.
  • Contribute to construction methodologies, programmes and delivery strategies.
  • Build strong client relationships and provide regular progress updates.
  • Monitor costs and programme, ensuring accurate reporting and records.
  • Prepare project documentation and progress reports.
  • Coordinate temporary works and assess associated requirements.
  • Forecast costs and resources to enable successful delivery.
  • Mentor site personnel and lead through effective leadership.
  • Ensure high quality standards and defect-free handover.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering and commercial teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Oversee site setup activities and coordinate construction works throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and project resources.
  • Support the delivery of surveys, ground investigations, constructability assessments, and site inputs into design development.
  • Contribute to construction methodologies, project programmes, and delivery strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for meetings, reviews, and reporting.
  • Monitor project performance, progress, costs, and programme delivery, ensuring accurate reporting and record keeping.
  • Prepare project documentation, presentations, and progress reports.
  • Manage and coordinate temporary works activities and associated requirements.
  • Forecast project costs and resource requirements to support successful project delivery.
  • Support the development and mentoring of site personnel through effective leadership and line management.
  • Ensure works are completed to the required quality standards and achieve a defect-free handover.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, commercial, and operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
  • Experience in a Site Agent, Sub-Agent, or similar construction leadership role.
  • Strong experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of earthworks, drainage, retaining structures, concrete works, and associated construction activities.
  • Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, plant, materials, and project resources.
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, programme management, and cost forecasting.
  • Experience managing health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements on site.
  • Knowledge of temporary works management and construction site operations.
  • Experience collaborating directly with clients and presenting project updates and progress reports.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and develop site teams within a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of cable duct installation and cable laying works.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • HND, Degree Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Membership or Associate Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or a relevant professional construction body is desirable.
Desirable
  • Experience working on electrical infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Knowledge of cable jointing activities and the erection and installation of high-voltage equipment.
  • Experience delivering projects within regulated utility or energy environments.
