Job summary

We are seeking a freelance Site Agent to join a major National Grid/substation project in Derbyshire. You will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure works meet programme and safety standards, and support commissioning and handover activities.

The role requires proven Site Agent experience in energy/utilities and familiarity with live electrical infrastructure environments. Derbyshire-based site work with long-term prospects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Agent / Site Manager in energy, utilities, infrastructure or construction.
• National Grid experience essential.
• Electrical substation experience essential.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and project documentation.
• Solid knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.

Site Agent – National Grid / Substation

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major energy infrastructure framework team in Derbyshire.

The successful candidate will have strong experience working on National Grid projects and electrical substations, with a proven track record of managing site activities safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, engineers and suppliers.
• Ensure construction activities are delivered in line with the approved programme and project specifications.
• Monitor site progress and report against programme, productivity and key milestones.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant National Grid standards, procedures and site requirements.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Conduct and support site briefings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
• Monitor and manage site resources, materials, plant and labour.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, Site Manager, engineers and client representatives.
• Identify and elevate risks, issues, delays and technical concerns.
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries, progress reports and relevant project documentation.
• Support commissioning, testing and handover activities where required.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Site Agent / Site Manager within the energy, utilities, infrastructure or construction sector.
• Previous National Grid experience is essential.
• Electrical substation experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of working within live electrical infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant site-based qualifications and industry certifications.
