Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead major National Grid transmission and substation projects in the UK. You will own the safe, efficient delivery, coordinating engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams to meet programme, safety and commercial targets.

You will bring a strong civil engineering or energy infrastructure background, exceptional leadership, and a proven track record delivering large-scale projects.

Qualifications

  • A degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience as a Site Agent, Agent or senior delivery professional on major infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Experience working within live 275kV or 400kV substation environments.
  • Knowledge of National Grid safety rules and assurance frameworks.
  • Professional membership with ICE, CIOB or APM.
  • SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS/EUSR management card.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications
  • Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and change management processes.
  • Excellent planning, programme management and leadership skills
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships.

  • Coordinate engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams to meet programme and budget targets.
  • Take ownership of a major section of works or a principal construction operation within a substation environment.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards.
  • Support the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects for the UK’s transition to a sustainable future.

As a Site Agent, you will take ownership of the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of a major section of works, multiple work packages or a principal construction operation within a substation environment. You'll provide visible leadership on site, coordinating engineering, construction, supply chain and quality teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards.
