Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within energy, utilities or infrastructure.
• Experience with National Grid projects is essential.
• Substation project experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of projects within the National Grid environment.
• Manage programmes, budgets, resources, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, construction and delivery teams.
• Work with National Grid and key stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
• Oversee planning, reporting, change control and governance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Monitor progress against programme and budget with updates to senior management.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Maintain high-standard project documentation and reporting.

Project Manager - National Grid / Substation

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a major energy infrastructure programme, delivering projects within the National Grid environment.

The role will be initially based in Derbyshire.

The successful candidate will have strong experience managing projects involving National Grid and electrical substations, with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure works safely, on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within the National Grid environment.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, construction and delivery teams.
• Work closely with National Grid and other key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• Oversee project planning, reporting, change control and governance.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Monitor progress against programme and budget, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and internal teams throughout project delivery.
• Ensure project documentation and reporting requirements are maintained to a high standard.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector.
• Previous National Grid experience is essential.
• Substation project experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure and substation projects.
• Demonstrable experience managing complex projects from initiation through to completion.
• Strong programme, budget, risk and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within major infrastructure projects.
