Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is assisting their client, a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, in recruiting a Site Agent to support ongoing civil works across the Welsh Water framework in South Wales. The role offers to oversee wastewater and water projects, including treatment works upgrades and pipeline installations.

You will take full site responsibility, manage labour and subcontractors, drive safety and quality, and coordinate with planners and commercial teams to keep

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent in water / wastewater or heavy civils.
• Strong background in dirty water / wastewater treatment; AMP framework advantageous.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are essential.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Take full site responsibility for civil works on wastewater sites, pumping stations and assets.
• Manage day-to-day site operations including direct labour, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
• Coordinate with Planners, Engineers and commercial teams to optimise programme and costs.
• Oversee RAMS, permits and site documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships with Welsh Water and framework partners.
• Drive high safety, environmental performance, and compliance standards.

Job description

Abatec is assisting their client, a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor who are looking to a Site Agent to support its ongoing programme of civil engineering works across the Welsh Water framework in South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established infrastructure contractor delivering a varied portfolio of wastewater and water infrastructure projects, including sewage treatment works upgrades, treatment plant improvements, pipeline installations and associated heavy civils.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full site responsibility for civil engineering works on wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, and associated assets.
• Manage day-to-day site operations including direct labour, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Coordinate with Planners, Engineers, and commercial teams to ensure programme and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the preparation of RAMS, permits, and site documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships with Welsh Water and framework partners.
• Drive high standards of safety, environmental performance, and compliance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent within the water / wastewater or heavy civil engineering sectors.
• Strong background in dirty water / wastewater treatment works (AMP framework experience advantageous).
• Excellent understanding of civil engineering construction, concrete structures, pipelines, chambers, and preferably M+E / MEICA interface coordination.
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications essential.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
