Job overview
The Royal London hospital is looking to recruit band 6 nurses to join our critical care and surgical teams on our Surgical High Dependency Unit. This is a 12 bedded high dependency unit caring for complex elective surgical patients from multiple specialties including Neuro, Trauma, Hepatobiliary, Colorectal, Gynae-Oncology, Vascular, ENT, and Maxillo-Facial.
We seek enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Registered Nurses, either at the start of developing leadership skills post HDU/critical care course or with band 6 experience in HDU, seeking a new challenge.
We support a modern, flexible career framework and offer opportunities to rotate to our level 3 critical care unit to broaden experience across the critical care spectrum.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide outstanding care, assess, plan, and deliver direct patient care for post-surgical patients requiring high dependency care, under supervision. They will act as a professional role model, clinical teacher, and mentor, and may assume overall responsibility of the unit as required, liaising with senior staff.
